Poinsettia's First Lego League Competitive Team

FLL introduces younger students to real-world engineering challenges by building LEGO-based robots to complete tasks on a thematic playing surface. FLL teams, guided by their imaginations and adult coaches, discover exciting career possibilities and, through the process, learn to make positive contributions to society.

Elementary and middle-school students get to:

checkbox red  Design, build, test and program robots using LEGO MINDSTORMS® technology
checkbox red  Apply real-world math and science concepts
checkbox red  Research challenges facing today’s scientists
checkbox red  Learn critical thinking, team-building and presentation skills 
checkbox red  Participate in tournaments and celebrations

What FLL teams accomplish is nothing short of amazing. It’s fun. It’s exciting. And the skills they learn will last a lifetime.

Season - September through February

a. Grades 4 & 5 ONLY - This team enters multiple FLL sanctioned tournaments

b. Members must have previous robotics experience

c. Applicants are placed through a rigorous screening process before accepted

"Sensors are used to 'feel' the surrounding environment.  The robot uses these sensors to take in information about where it is and what it is doing."
